1997 to 2002: Bajpur Municipality President. (Became the youngest municipality president in Uttar Pradesh government)
2002: For the first time in Uttarakhand general elections, he won from Bajpur assembly constituency.
2007: Won from Bajpur assembly constituency for the second time in Uttarakhand general elections.
2004 – 2007: Member of Public Undertakings and Corporations Committee of Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly.
2007 – 2008: Was a member of the Petition Committee and Rules Committee of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly.
2008 – 2009: Was a member of Public Accounts Committee of Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly.
2008 – 2009: Was a member of Legislative Committee, copy of Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly.
2012: Won from Gadarpur assembly constituency for the third time in Uttarakhand general elections.
2017: Won from Gadarpur assembly constituency for the fourth time in Uttarakhand general elections.

March 18, 2017 – March 12, 2021 – Appointed cabinet minister in Trivendra government and took charge of State School Education, Adult Education, Sanskrit Education, Sports, Youth Welfare and Panchayati Raj Department.

12 March 2021 – 4 July 2021 – Appointed cabinet minister in Tirath government and took over the responsibility of State School Education, Adult Education, Sanskrit Education, Sports, Youth Welfare and Panchayati Raj Department.

Appointed cabinet minister in Pushkar Dhami government on 4 July 2021 and again got the responsibility of State School Education, Adult Education, Sanskrit Education, Sports, Youth Welfare and Panchayati Raj Department.

March 10, 2022: Won Uttarakhand general elections from Gadarpur assembly constituency for the fifth time.
